Mail Bomb Recognition Training - WorkSafe Secure

Mail Bomb Recognition is the training accreditation suitable for people who are required to recognise suspect mail items.

Our 3-hour course provides a mechanism to recognize whether a mail item is suspected to be an improvised explosive device, or not.  Mail Bomb Recognition training course focuses on key areas including:

  • Procedures - Have dedicated procedures in place to manage suspected mail bomb incidents
  • Training - Undertake training to identify the mail bomb recognition points
  • Assistance - Have on hand and use the recognition checklist
  • Safety - Follow response safety precautions appropriate to the situation and seek assistance

Course Details

WorkSafe Connect offers Federal Bureau of Investigation guidelines for assessment of recognition points and subsequent Australian Federal Police courses of action in response to mail bombs.

By the end of the Mail Bomb Recognition course, participants will have a greater knowledge and understanding of the key mail bomb recognition procedures and best practices, including knowledge relating to:

  • Postal devices
  • Categories
  • Functioning principles
  • Design options
  • FBI recognition points
  • AFP safety precautions
  • Recognition checklist
  • Suspect hazardous substance exposure
  • Golden rule

Training will be conducted by one of our highly experienced trainer assessors.
